Mondygo is seeking an experienced Web Application Developer to work on its industry-acclaimed website.

Mondygo is pioneering Online Travel Agent, breaking away from the traditional fractured market, and instead providing an one-stop destination for your holiday plans.

To further accelerate our grow we are establishing a new internal development team, and you’ll be part of it.

Developers at Mondygo may be called upon to work on any part of the site, rather than adhering to the usual labels of "front-end”, "back-end”

You should be comfortable adding an index to ElasticSearch, modifying a RabbitMQ queue, or adjusting a PHP controller.

Most of all, you should love creating things and take great personal pride in building beautiful, functional, and highly performant interfaces for external and internal users.

This is a serious opportunity to redefine the travel experience, and you will work on a large number of fun and challenging problems as the site and team grow.

Core technical skills and experience:

• 3-5 years experience developing websites for consumer purposes.
• 3+ years of SOLID OOP experience (in PHP, Java, C#, etc.)
• PHP Web application development and support experience, including planning for load, QA and database interaction.
• Thorough understanding of the web and web browsers, their capabilities and limitations.
• Thorough knowledge of JQuery, CSS3, REST, JavaScript, HTML, SQL/NOSQL Architectures, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience working with Git
• Prolific writer of documentation

Core personal skills:

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, with a methodical approach to all tasks
• Able to succeed in a fast-moving high-demand environment and willing to “roll up your sleeves” when necessary
• Solid background in the fundamentals of software development
• Deep understanding of best practices in mobile, tablet, and desktop user experience
• Adaptable and willing to approach tasks with velocity and a high metabolism

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the travel industry
• Proven experience leading teams of other developers on successful high-profile, high-visibility web projects with advanced caching technologies.
• Experience in all phases of web site development and maintenance life cycle. 
• Previous employment at early-stage companies, preferably digital media startups
• Comfortable handling DevOps tasks
• Experience writing automated unit tests in Javascript or PHP
• Experience with AngularJS or other JS framework
• Humour…. A much appreciate characteristic ;-)
• Living in a 100km radius around Maastricht and/or willing to relocate.
• Dutch language skills are a bonus
